Work with us
Amegreen Children’s Services are a group of residential children’s homes which have been operating since 2013. Our homes are currently rated “Outstanding” and “Good” by Ofsted and we take pride in our outcomes for young people.
We have a community of children’s homes in rural West Berkshire and North Hampshire and offer expert training in our therapeutic model PACE to ensure all staff members are informed by the same underpinning knowledge which is embedded in our attitude to caring for children.
We care for some of the most vulnerable and complex young people in society and recognise that they need skilled therapeutic intervention, to help them build positive and nurturing relationships.
We are committed to the safeguarding of all children and young people in our care and require enhanced police checks for all applicants a part of our safer recruitment policy. These checks ensure that we have the best people caring for our young people as they deserve the best care and support possible.
The young people we care for have traumatic backgrounds and require many things in order to meet their needs. We are looking for people who are nurturing, therapeutic, understanding and empathetic.

Here are some links to a few of the qualifications we offer:
“I had mixed emotions on my first day as I was very excited but also very nervous. My perception of residential work had been influenced by others but after meeting my team and our young people, I was at ease and realised all those anxieties were based on negative predictions.
Every day has been very different, but equally as rewarding. Seeing our young people genuinely smile and feel safe in the services that they know as home, is one of the best parts of my job. It’s also extremely rewarding to see our young people grow and develop.
As with any job, we face different barriers and experience different challenges with our young people at times. However, the good moments and brilliant days make these challenges a distant memory. A lot of people question the work and life balance in my job, as it’s such a hands-on role, but you get time off in the week and still have some weekends.
There's lots of training to support my role and some of this helps me understand the challenges the young people have faced in their lives and why they might display the behaviours we see. Now I have this understanding I am so much more empathetic, and this helps me connect with those I care for.
My biggest achievement to date is the relationships that I’m developing with our young people. Once they see you as reliable and consistent, they start to build attachments, and this is a wonderful experience.”
“Our main aim is to provide the children with safe environments where they can re-build their experience of the world.”
