Gary Carlin
Gary began his career in 1992 in residential childcare and his commitment to changing outcomes for children was instant, since then, Gary has completed an abundance of qualifications which have helped mould his vision into something more than just childcare. Gary is a social worker who has completed the Advanced Social Worker Award, his level 4 in Leadership and Management and his diploma in Care and Development of Children and Young People. However, Gary recognized the effects of trauma in children and young people and went on to do his MA in Therapeutic Childcare and Management and Equine Facilitated Learning using the LEAP model.
Alongside his career working in safeguarding and child protection as a social worker, Gary has the underpinning knowledge which leads his homes to build a therapeutic environment for each child to learn how to feel safe and build new positive experiences.
Through Gary's studies and hands on experience working with vulnerable children who have trauma from an early age, Gary has branched out into different models of therapeutic working, one of which was Equine Assisted Therapy. Gary saw the positive impact of children with trauma working with horses and grew Amegreen Children's Services to reflect his passion for Equine Therapy and working in a trauma informed way.
Gary has founded “Stable Futures” in 2019 which is an Equine Assisted Therapeutic Service open to not only Amegreen Children’s Services but to the wider public, to ensure that as many young people as possible have the opportunity to heal and build.

I can say that the homes have never missed a parents evening or a multi-professionals meeting, and we work well as a team.”
