Amegreen Children’s Services was founded in 2013 and specialize in therapeutic residential children’s care. We currently have a community of beautiful homes set in rural West Berkshire where we offer a warm welcome to vulnerable children aged 5 years old to 18 years old.
All our homes are rated “Good” and “Outstanding” by Ofsted and we take pride in the outcomes we provide for young people. We care for some of the most vulnerable and complex young people in society and recognize that they need skilled therapeutic intervention to help them build positive and nurturing relationships. All of our homes are located with plenty of space to grow, thrive and learn through play.
We are so proud of how well our first ever Amegreen school has done in it’s first year of being open, so much so that we are opening up another one!
We are excited to announce the opening of our second Amegreen School, Northcroft.
Northcroft will be a Secondary School for 12 - 16year olds.

Therapeutic Parent Model
In all our homes, our staff members understand how to nurture the children and our aim is to support the children to achieve fulfilling lives. Our staff are trained in a therapeutic parenting model (PACE), which was developed by Dan Hughes. This is embedded to daily life, and we view it as an attitude to parenting more than anything else.

PACE stands for Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy. And those four pillars are what makes us a nurturing environment where young people can feel safe to explore the world around them and re-build their experience of the world and of themselves, enabling them to form healthy attachments and gain positive outcomes.
Equine Assisted Therapy Service
Our ultimate goal is to help children recover from difficult, often traumatic early life experiences by providing skilled, consistent, warm and affectionate care in an environment that is safe and reparative.
We understand that each child is an individual and we take pride in how we help children to understand their identity, and feel a sense of belonging within themselves as well as building healthy and nurturing relationships with others.
Alongside PACE, Amegreen Children’s Services are proud to provide a specialist Equine Assisted Therapy Service which all our young people have access to from the moment they are placed with us. Our skilled facilitators work with our twelve, majestic horses and the young people to help them process painful feelings and learn to trust in the environment around them, while providing a safe and calming space.
